Altea - Costa Packet!

a totally pedestrian stroll zone

The town council of Altea are preparing to spend almost €10 million to improve the coastline of this charming Costa Blanca town. With the backing and funding from the Ministry of the Environment over 1.6 km of beach and harbour will be rehabilitated and improved for better public use.

Stretching from the mouth of the River Algar to the fishing port of the town the project will also help to solve the many parking problems in Altea with the construction of two underground car parks for 700 cars. Even better for those on foot, the whole new paseo (promenade) to be constructed will be a totally pedestrian stroll zone which will really complement the holiday atmosphere of the town.

However, as with all big environmental projects, things won't happen overnight so don't expect to see anything until at least 2007.
