More Disabled Facilities in Benidorm
Published on 18th May, 2006
Benidorm really has been at the forefront of the holiday business for so long and continues to keep itself there with improvements for its customers every year.
This week the mayor has officially inaugurated the improvements to the three access points to beach and sea for the disabled. Costing over €60,000 the improvements involved building new changing rooms, extending the shaded area for users and building a concrete ramp which gives easy access to the sea for wheelchair users. As well as this they've also received funds to purchase special wheelchairs which can go into the sea and to fund three staff who will man the facilities.
Open from 10AM to 7PM the disabled access points - which are completely free - were used by 7000 people last year and the council are proud of the fact that so many people now come, and return to, Benidorm specifically because of the superb disabled facilities.
