Benidorm Disco Marathon

Benidorm disco goers actually get an extra hour's dancing
There were high temperatures and a large dose of Saturday Night Fever in Benidorm last weekend. Pub and Disco bosses were left fuming as without warning, the local police turned up at many establishments at half past one in the morning telling them they had to close at four!
The reason was that the Benidorm Marathon was taking place on Sunday morning and 43 Km of road had to be cleared of traffic and prepared. Quite understandably the bosses were miffed at losing trade on the biggest night of the week, but also furious that they had been given no prior warning.
Benidorm's pubs are normally allowed to stay open until 5am and the discos until 8am. After hasty negotiations a compromise was reached with the bars having to close at 4am and the discos shutting at 6am.
Council officials admit their error but point out that lucky Benidorm disco goers actually get an extra hour's dancing than their counterparts in the rest of the province where the smoochie last chance dance is played at 6.55 am on the dot.

Where am I?
