Now that the construction of the new promenade running the length of Poniente beach is underway the council have decided to spruce up the area at the end of it. The famous Elche park and home to hundreds of beautiful white doves will undergo a facelift to give it a whole new look.
Around €300,000 will be invested in its infrastructure to make it much more attractive to visitors. The whole area will be made much more open and accessible to the promenade by getting rid of the walls, changing the paving, and installing more lamps to bring light into the park.
The fountain whose pipes had become completely clogged up has already been repaired and with much more greenery on the way the park will certainly become a focal point for promenaders next year when the work is completed.

Where am I?
