Life's a Beach

95% of beach goers thought the quality of the sand to be 'very good'
Did you know that Benidorm council considers its beaches to be so important that it has its own council department to look after them? Obviously they rely very much on public opinion and every year conduct a survey amongst a large sample of beach users to gauge the level of satisfaction amongst their clients.
This year's results have been particularly pleasing and encouraging. A massive 95% of beach goers thought the quality of the sand to be 'very good' and over 80% thought the same of each of the following facilities; foot showers, security, cleanliness, safety and the sunloungers and parasols. Lowest scorers on the list were toilets and parking, or rather the lack of them.
Not surprisingly, most of the people questioned were visiting Benidorm for a holiday and the vast majority of them had gone to the beach to swim, sunbathe, take a walk, or practise sports.
The most surprising statistic to emerge from the survey is the difference in visitors to our two main beaches – Levante is most favoured by foreign visitors, whilst Poniente is preferred by Spanish visitors and residents of Benidorm itself. Who'd have thought it?
