Next week is Vila Joyosa’s big festival featuring the Moors and Christians re-enacting 700 years of history in seven days.

24/7, 21.00, Town Centre, Official entrance of the marching bands.

25/7, 20.00, Town Centre, Moorish march past.

26/7, 21.30, Town Centre, Christian march past.

27/7, 20.00, Beach, Pirates and smugglers unload contraband, later the Bedouins disembark.

27/7, 21.00, Avenida Puerto, Presentation of the Moorish troops to the king.

28/7, 4.00, Beach, Moors arrive, Christians arrive, naval battle commences, the castle is reconquered.

29/7, 20.00, Town Centre, solemn procession followed by fireworks display at 01.00.

30/7,13.00, Town Centre, Paella competition.

31/7, 20.00, Town Centre, The Big parade.
