Operation Easter

65,000 cars

Benidorm is bracing itself for a massive invasion of visitors this bank holiday weekend. Over 300,000 people are expected to jam every available form of accommodation, bar, restaurant and all our entertainment hot-spots.

Ever popular with the Spanish, who'll be arriving from all over the country, the town's roads will see an influx of 65,000 cars funneling down the AP-7 motorway and the N332 main road into town. Add to this at least 500 coaches and it's understandable why the town hall has reinforced the number of traffic cops on duty to a staggering 310, that's 190 more than last year when Easter fell quite early.

The operation last until next week when everybody sets off to return to work - hopefully they won't all leave at the same time. Happy Easter to all our visitors.
