Quiet Weekends in Albir

forbidden noisy works and D.I.Y.

There's good news for both residents and holiday-makers alike in the bijou resort of Albir this week. Those who like a relaxing weekend (don't we all?) will be cock-a-hoop to hear that there's a new edict been passed in Alfaz de Pi, the administrative area which contains Albir. The mayor, Gabriel Such, has forbidden noisy works and D.I.Y. from taking place from 2pm on Saturdays until 8am on Monday morning!

So now the sound of noisy drills, sanders, tile cutters and our favourites, jack hammers, will be a thing of the past, leaving weekends for quieter pursuits like having a barbecue in the garden or lounging on the beach.

The mayor has stated that urgent repairs will of course be allowed, though having an emergency kitchen fitted or a crisis balcony-rail-sanding situation would probably not be permitted.

Well done the Mayor, and well done us for not working Screaming Lord Such into the article. (Whoops, couldn't resist!)
