Unusual Benidorm

Say the magic word Benidorm and our thoughts automatically turn to sun, sea, sand, sangria, shows, sights, shopping and theme parks. (Why can't theme parks begin with S?)

However, there are a couple of events going on which we would never associate with our favourite resort under normal circumstances…..

Scientists from over 22 countries are attending a symposium here to advance their collective knowledge on robot assisted surgery under the watchful eye of Professor Mamoru Mitsuishi from Tokyo University.

The 2nd April sees the start of Sacred Music Week in the church of San Jaime and Santa Ana in Benidorm. Featuring choirs and orchestras from all over Spain and as far afield as Berlin and Bulgaria, music by many different composers and from different eras will be on the agenda. Everybody is welcome, so why not pop along to listen to music as it used to be?
