Christmas Spends in Benidorm

number one when it came to spending on the lottery

A detailed analysis of the Christmas spend per person in Benidorm and the Valencia Province has just been released by the Spanish equivalent of the consumer organisation. Your average Benidormian will spend €931 this year in the festive season. Not far behind the top figure of €965 in Madrid and well above the mean figure of €858 for all Spain.

The statistics were further broken down into different categories giving the following results

The stats put Valencia in 3rd position out of the17 provinces of Spain overall and number one when it came to spending on the lottery. Oddly enough, the Catalans, who enjoy the same tight-fisted reputation as the Scots were the second biggest spenders in the country – miles ahead of the Extremadurians who were left propping up the table with a spend of only €800 per person.
