Christmas in Benidorm this year looks set to be more traditional and festive than at Marks and Spencer! The Town Hall square has, since Saturday, been converted into 'Christmas Square' for the duration of the festivities up until 6th January.

Visitors will find an ice rink, a 19th Century style merry-go-round, the town's crib nativity scene, a Christmas market, games and workshops for the kids and, of course, an enormous Christmas tree measuring 15 metres.

The square will be open for business from 10 to 14 and 17 to 21 and afternoon visitors will be able to experience a rare sensation in Benidorm – snow! A giant 'snow canon' has been hired by the council and will produce light flurries when it gets dark – so no need to strap tennis rackets to your feet. Merry Christmas everybody!
