Benidorm Steps on the Gas

Remember in the good old days when the gas ran out and you spent an eternity fumbling in your pocket looking for a shilling for the meter? Well in Benidorm the situation is not much better because
all our gas for the central heating, hot water and cooking comes courtesy of a big orange cannister and when it runs out you have run up 24 flights of stairs to exchange it for a full one in your
storeroom.
The good news for the town is that the good old days will soon be over as a new pipeline for natural gas is to be constructed which will bring piping hot gas to every home in Benidorm that wants
it.
The vast logistics call for a pipeline all the way from Alicante to Altea to deliver the liquid gas and a satellite storage station just outside Benidorm with a 120000 litre capacity. The gas is much
more efficient and produces less contamination than other forms of energy used at the present time and so will benefit everybody.
The only problem we can foresee to the new supply is that giant consumers like some of our enormous hotels are going to need an awful lot of shillings when everyone wants a hot shower before
dinner!
