Benidorm Bus Station Opens

relieve traffic in the town centre
Benidorm's new bus station at the back of town is finally open. Months late and still with problems regarding the legality of some of its structure – the usual scenario of more being built than permission given – the first bus pulled in the other day.
The station will eventually relieve traffic in the town centre as 200 or so buses won't have to pass through it and hold up traffic dropping off passengers. Services will continue to use their
original stops on their way to the bus station so passengers can get used to the new system. Within a couple of months all the services will run from the new terminus and the town centre will be
linked to it by two shuttle buses the 41 and the 11 which will run regular journeys to and fro.
The station will be open 24/365 and is forecast to see a million passengers in its first year. Don't forget that buses arrive in Benidorm from not only the local area but from many corners of Spain
and beyond so a dedicated terminus has been much needed for a long while now.
