Did you know that around 15% of all the dwellings – houses, apartments, duplexes and so on – are purchased by foreigners? Outside the town in the suburbs and smaller villages the number goes up to 27%.
As you can imagine most of these purchases are made by comparatively wealthy folks who may be retiring to sunnier climes and are buying brand new properties. Further proof of this can be seen when the figures are further analysed as a high proportion of the property is much bigger than your average living space.
