Eagle eyed Spotlight readers have been writing to us in in droves over the Prince Concert in Benidorm we announced last week.
There is mystery about the performance because tickets are on sale for a concert by His Purpleness in London on 25th August - the very same day he is due in Benidorm.
The promoter of the Benidorm concert says he has paid half of Prince's fee up front and has showed the paperwork to the press as proof. He also says that as the Rolling Stones are due to play the O2 arena in London on 23rd and 26th they are hardly likely to be able to dismantle their massive stage set and re-erect it in such a short time.
On the other hand, the association of Spanish Music Promoters are warning the public that the Benidorm concert could be a massive fraud.
So, as it stands today, tickets will not be on sale for the Benidorm concert on the day originally planned. We will keep you informed of any further happenings.
