Benidorm Bottoming
Published on 11th January, 2008
You know how every so often the lady of the house has to give it a good 'bottoming.?' A thorough clean that involves moving all the chairs while you're trying to watch grandstand and you can't hear a thing because of the vacuum cleaner and her screaming like a Harpy from Hell.
Well Benidorm Council are going to give the town centre a 'clean to the bottom' from the 14th to 23rd January and it'll involve a little more than moving a few chairs about. It's a carefully
coordinated exercise which relies on the cooperation of all the neighbours in the area.
To get into all those awkward little nooks and crannies all the cars have to be removed from certain streets on certain days. The council tow truck is on standby to lend a hand should anyone forget
about this.
They'll be using the water ecologically drained from swimming pools in the area to bring the tarmac back to pristine condition and the good news is that
there's only one Grandstand on during the entire clean up period!
