Benidorm's Children's Charity Connection

voted as the worst song ever

Two well-known Benidorm entertainers will be featured on this Friday's BBC special 'Children in Need' programme. Dene Michael and Ian Robinson have made a video clip of their new single 'Agadoo' which was shot on our very own Albir beach this week and it will be shown several times throughout the show just in case you forget the words!

You'll probably know the pair for their performances around Benidorm's pubs and clubs in Shoewaddywaddy and the Bay City Rollers tribute band (probably the only one in Spain) but what you may not know is that Dene was actually a member of Black Lace for a while after one of the original members had to leave the band.

The 1984 hit is a hula melody about trees, pineapples, the lovely beach and the sky and was in the charts for only 30 weeks at the time. Amazingly, it has been voted as the worst song ever, but is still infinitely preferable than listening to Charity Show Host Wogan wittering on about the Eurovision Song Contest.
