We Love Sand

a net annual income to the town of €12,000!

Think of Spain, think of Benidorm, and probably the first image we have is of long sandy, sun-kissed beaches lapped by the blue, blue Mediterranean sea. Incredibly, only 0.001% of Spanish territory is beach and yet it is so, so important to the country as it generates 10% of its income each year.

Statisticians have calculated that each square metre of Benidorm's Poniente and Levante beaches produces a net annual income to the town of €12,000! No wonder we often use the word golden to describe our beaches here.

Benidorm is also one of the best places for disabled beach users. Statistics show that of the 30,000 disabled bathers who used the beaches of the Valencian Community in July and August, most were in Benidorm. It's 3 disabled access points and year round daily opening from 9.30 to 18.30 give some idea why.
