declared an 'Archaeological Park'

Just round the corner from Benidorm, here is the news from Albir.

Archaeological remains discovered last summer are to get a weatherproof cover to protect them. Roman baths which belonged to a grand villa are to be declared an 'Archaeological Park' where the public can visit.

Albir will have a new super duper market place for next summer. The council is going to 'tidy up' the area around the Bulevar de los Músicos by installing lighting, drinking water, tarmac, road signs and so on. There'll be room for 400 stalls and a big parking area included in the project.

Thanks to the council, there will also be a church in that area. They've donated a parcel of land where the new church will stand in about 18 months. After 20 years of waiting parishioners, who've donated €480,000 towards the cost, will finally have a place of worship.
