Benidorm Biblioplaya
play chess or cards
What better way of spending the day on Benidorm's famous Levante beach than being surrounded by beautiful, tanned bodies with your nose tucked in a good book?
Thanks to Benidorm council who have just renovated and modernised their beach library – 'Biblioplaya' – you can now read books and newspapers in several languages, even play chess or cards, in comfort and shade.
Around 100,000 people have used the facilities every year for the last 10 years and this latest redesign – subsidised by the tourist authorities to the tune of €195,000 – is even more practical than before, keeping out the elements in summer and winter.
The Biblioplaya will be open every day except Monday (and closed for holidays and beach cleaning from 15/1 to 15/2) from 11.00 to 15.00 in winter and 11.00 to 18.00 in summer.
Right, I'm off to borrow Barbara Cartland's latest.
