21 Grand Masters

The Benidorm International Chess Open takes place for the 22nd time between 24th April and 3rd May, and this year will be held in the Deloix Aqua Hotel.

Just to demonstrate the importance of the competition in the Chess world there are a total of 21 Grand Masters and 30 International Masters participating in the competition which will consist of 10 rounds using the Swiss system where competitors are paired with those of similar ability to themselves.

Chess players from all over the world – around 80% of the entrants are foreign – will be in Benidorm and amongst their number are some really famous Chess names like Enmanuel Berg, Julio Granda,Tomasz Markowski and Julian Hodgson.

Sounds like game set and checkmate to Benidorm once again for another successful sporting event.
