F1 Favourites for Benidorm 2010?

Could we be seeing all our Formula 1 favourites like Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso in Benidorm in 2010? If the mayor of the town, Agustín Navarro, gets his way then yes, we could!

He's written to the president of the Valencian Community, Francisco Camps, requesting that the presentation of the F1 teams takes place in Benidorm as it would bring fantastic publicity to the town which has seen a drop in European tourist numbers because of the recession.

The team presentation is currently scheduled to take place in Valencia itself on 29^th and 30^th January but Benidorm reckons it could host the party quite easily ahead of the first practice event of the season at Valencia's Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste.

It's particularly apt that Spain should host the pre season presentation as it holds not one, but two, F1 races in 2010; The Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona on 9^th May and the European Grand Prix on the Valencia Street Circuit on 11^th June.
