Remember when the world was a much more conventional place than it is today when anything seems to go? For example, years ago, a proposal of marriage would take place in the front parlour, when in Sunday best suit, the young man would go down on bended knee to pop the question as his soon-to-be father-in-law looked on proudly with a double-barrelled shotgun.

Nowadays it's all changed as anyone at Benidorm's Mundomar theme park the other day will attest when a young Spanish couple Elisabeth and Juan Miguel got engaged with only the help of a dolphin.

As Juan Miguel popped the question, Alpha the dolphin swam serenely over with the engagement ring. Overcome with emotion, it seemed to take an age for Elisabeth to utter the word 'Si' to which the crowd erupted in applause.

Isn't that romantic?
