Benidorm First Aid

they helped 2500 people

Reports coming in from the hospital in Vila Joyosa which serves Benidorm indicate that around 30% of the people who arrive in the emergency department could have received primary medical attention elsewhere.

Holiday makers from EC countries are entitled to medical treatment from the Spanish National Health service if they carry an EHIC card. Though there is only the one 'NHS' hospital for the area, Benidorm itself has two clinics where urgencies can be dealt with 24/7, in Avenida de Venezuela, Foietes and Calle Tomás Ortuño in the town centre.

Another point of primary attention is the service provided by the Red Cross and its 80 volunteers. Last year they helped 2500 people who needed emergency attention on land and sea. This year, thanks to the donation of two specially equipped mountain bikes by local people, the Red cross volunteers will be even more visible around town!

Here's hoping that you'll never need their services.
