Benidorm: Operation Springsteen
80 enormous trucks
Benidorm is poised for Thursday's visit of the Boss. When Bruce comes to town to play in front of a packed house of 30,000 adoring fans there's a lot of planning to be done.
It's a massive logistics operation to get so many people in and out of a small space in such a short time. With around 8,000 cars expected, 16 special parking areas have been set aside, and special buses will be ferrying people to the stadium from these areas. A whole fleet of taxis will also be on hand, and the tram in from Alicante will have many extra services during the night.
Obviously, security and safety is a major concern, so the police, fire brigade, civil protection, red cross and street cleaning teams are all on high alert for this one evening.
If this wasn't enough a fleet of 80 enormous trucks carrying all the Boss' stage sets and equipment began to arrive last weekend to ensure that everything is ready for the moment when Sr. Springsteen strides onto the stage.
