Benidorm - The Spanish Favourite

If you believed everything the British press wrote, then you'd be under the erroneous impression that Benidorm was merely Britain in the sun. The truth is of course, that it's massively popular with the Spanish themselves and Que magazine confirms this in a recent article.

It reports that Benidorm is the most sought after destination by Spanish package tourists, followed by Peñíscola, Salou, Mojácar and Roquetas de Mar.

Interestingly, the picture changes when the Spanish book packages where food is not included in the hotel accommodation. Then their order of preference is Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Tenerife.
