Benidorm Carnival
a drag queen spectacular
It's Mardi Gras next Tuesday, but like many cities in Spain Benidorm celebrates this Saturday night – who wants to go to work the next day when you've been out until the early hours?
The carnival parade is organised by the 'brotherhoods' who also run the Benidorm Fiesta week in November and they're hoping to raise lots of cash for the Fiesta.
The parade, featuring floats, music, fancy dress and hundreds of people marches around Benidorm starting at 22.00 in Calle Venus and finishing in the Town Hall square where there'll be live music and a bar with 'popular prices' until the wee small hours.
The main feature of this year's parade is a drag queen spectacular plus there are prizes of €3600 for the best groups taking part. There's a mini parade for the kids which starts at 11.00 and follows the same route and all the kids get chocolate for participating!
