 The Mayor of Benidorm, Agustin Navarro, has announced a crackdown on dog owners who don't clean up after their pets. He says that he's going to make it really hard for dog owners whose pets foul the streets by fining them the maximum he can, which currently stands at €150.

To make it crystal clear that he means business, he's instructed his legal bods to see if it's possible to increase the maximum fine. His point of view is that there is no excuse for not taking away a dog's doings as there are bag dispensers all over town.

Here's to a cleaner Benidorm.
