Irish Fest I: Benidorm

until the wee small hours

We all know that the best craic in the world is in Benidorm, but it gets even better this week when Beni's first Irish Festival will be held in the town's top Irish bars.

The Guiness Bar, Scruffy Murphy's, The Bodhran and The Shamrock will be painting the town green this weekend, 14th to 16th October, when they'll be hosting a massive free festival of Celtic Folk, Rock and Traditional music featuring locally based bands and around 40 musicians specially imported from the Emerald Isle.

Scheduled to play are The Kirbys, Gael Force 3, Sixmilebridge Folk Club from Ireland, and Arthur’s Bhoys, The Benidorm Rovers (photo), Brendan Murray, The Scruffy Buskers, all based in the Costa Blanca. To keep the party going throughout the weekend until the wee small hours there'll be plenty of give-aways and open mic sessions where local or holidaying musicians get the chance to play.

You can find more information on who's on, when and where from the bars themselves, which sounds like a good excuse to go and have a Guinness to me!
