Benidorm New Year

Cava and grapes

Benidorm's big New Year's Eve party takes place in the town hall plaza, temporarily renamed 'Christmas Square' because of all the festive events going on there.

The council sponsored event has everything anyone could need for a traditional Spanish farewell to the old year and welcome to the new. Starting at 23.00 on Saturday 31st, there will be glasses of Cava and grapes – tradition dictates that you eat one of 12 grapes on each chime of the bells for midnight to give 12 months' good luck throughout the year.

La Taxxara Orchestra will be playing a selection of dance music throughout the night until the early hours and the bar will be serving drinks at prices everyone can afford.

See you down there and happy new year!
