If you've been watching Channel 5's Benidorm ER programme about the private Clinica Benidorm Hospital you'll be well aware that accidents and illnesses are just as prevalent when you're on holiday as at home.

With a large percentage of elderly holidaymakers it probably won't be surprising to hear that heart conditions are an extremely common complaint in the town. Benidorm council are going to be spending €9000 this year so that first aid is closer at hand than ever before. No, they're not hiring Vinnie Jones, they're buying 7 defibrillators which will be placed at strategic points around town so that anyone who needs one urgently is never far away from emergency treatment.
