This was my first visit to Benidorm and the hotel was recommended by a friend. I have to say I was not disappointed at all. We visited at the very end of February and really enjoyed the holiday. We did the half board deal and the food selection was excellent. The bar was clean and the bar staff first class. Due to the time of the year the entertainment was mainly 50/50 type dancing but it was well attended, I am informed that this does change throughout the year. Because of the hotel location there is plenty of excellent entertainment in within 5 to 10 minutes walk.

We chose the Calypso because it looked good value for money, and because it had a good secure car park as we travelled by car.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in terms of the food and restaurant service. The food was good quality and a reasonable selection each evening. The breakfasts were excellent with everything you could want.
The room looked a bit tired, but was clean and comfortable.
Whilst we enjoyed watching the ballroom dancing, we thought that there should have been a greater variety in the evening entertainment.

lovely food. dont get ripped off in the exchange on the main road. Large board outside says 1.19 euro, you change your money with the girl who sits too low in her chair to count your money into your hand. you get 0.99.. go back to complain, she points to a little sign u wont see saying 1.19 if u change 600 quid. be careful.. a total scam rip off.

My husband and I along along with 6 other friends spent a week at the hotel Calypso Benidorm in early October.Out of all the hotels we have stayed in Benidorm, I think I speak for all of us that this was was the best one. It was so clean you could eat off of the floor. The staff were the friendliest bunch I have seen anywhere.Being all ballroom dancers we particularly liked the music that was played during the evening.
The food was very varied, but I only rated it 8 out of 10 because I would have liked to see more Spanish food. I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced, we had a good bottle of Rioja wine for 8 euros.
The only problem we had was getting stuck in the lift on one occasion.
I wouldn't recomend this hotel during the winter months to families or young couples as the entertainment is geared up to cater for the over fifties. To sum up I would say this was the best value for money hotel that we have ever been to.I think we would all like to come again next year and bring a few more dancers with us.

My boyfriend and I are in our early 20's. We stayed in the Calypso Hotel and thought it was lovely. We only pre booked 2 nights online, but when we were there, we end up booking an extra 3 nights as we really liked it, and the hotel had no problem with that, we got to stay in our original room also. As we travelled around Benidorm, we noticed the standard of our hotel was much better than the majority of the hotels in Benidorm. The majority of people in the Calypso hotel are 60+ and wallsing/salsa dancing was on most nights, but me and my boyfriend were happy with this as it was a nice hotel. We also went to Aqualandia & Terra Metica, and we would definately recommend Terra Metica as there are things to do for all ages.
