My husband and I along along with 6 other friends spent a week at the hotel Calypso Benidorm in early October.Out of all the hotels we have stayed in Benidorm, I think I speak for all of us that this was was the best one. It was so clean you could eat off of the floor. The staff were the friendliest bunch I have seen anywhere.Being all ballroom dancers we particularly liked the music that was played during the evening.
The food was very varied, but I only rated it 8 out of 10 because I would have liked to see more Spanish food. I thought the drinks were very reasonably priced, we had a good bottle of Rioja wine for 8 euros.
The only problem we had was getting stuck in the lift on one occasion.
I wouldn't recomend this hotel during the winter months to families or young couples as the entertainment is geared up to cater for the over fifties. To sum up I would say this was the best value for money hotel that we have ever been to.I think we would all like to come again next year and bring a few more dancers with us.

My boyfriend and I are in our early 20's. We stayed in the Calypso Hotel and thought it was lovely. We only pre booked 2 nights online, but when we were there, we end up booking an extra 3 nights as we really liked it, and the hotel had no problem with that, we got to stay in our original room also. As we travelled around Benidorm, we noticed the standard of our hotel was much better than the majority of the hotels in Benidorm. The majority of people in the Calypso hotel are 60+ and wallsing/salsa dancing was on most nights, but me and my boyfriend were happy with this as it was a nice hotel. We also went to Aqualandia & Terra Metica, and we would definately recommend Terra Metica as there are things to do for all ages.

This was our second visit and rooms had been refurbished. Pleased to find that this time we were able to get some english t.v. channels, which were unavailable last year. Had packed lunch again this year but both times not very good, a small tin tuna not to every ones taste. Cheese and or ham for the rolls would have been preferred. Most of the staff very cheerfull, helpful particularly in the dining room. Good position for outside entertainment bars.

The hotel was situated on the main street close to all the main barsand action.the hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull and the maid did a good job of cleaning the room. The food was always plentifull and a good choice to select from, only quibble was sometimes it was not as warm as I would have liked. There was always plenty of spare sunbeds around the pool but the english patrons always saved the sunshade ones early in the morning.Overall I would recomend this hotel for a good holiday.

Just returned from a week at the calypso Hotel. Best hotel i have stayed at in benidorm, having been twenty times. The beds are really soft, which is unusual, they are usually very hard.rooms are small but have everything required. english tv in room.food was great and plentiful, but many pensioners were staying, and do not like queing, they just barge in, not a problem though.pool area excellent, and quiet, due to the pensioners not using it.evening entertainment was mainly ball room dancing and a few naff acrobats!,catered for old people.very good security 24 hrs. good position opposite captain morgans tavern, noise was from next doors all inclusive hotel ( rowdy) but not too bad.lifts are very small, and my wife uses wheel chair, but one bigger lift is around the corner, used a lot though.would definetely go again, but would try to avoid so many pensioners, ( they think they own the hotel)

had a great stay at the calypso. was my second time there and would gladly go back again.
the staff there are so friendly and helpful.
only one tiny little complaint, my niece was with us with her baby of 7 months.
there was no baby changing facilities downstairs when she had to change her she had to treck upstairs.
as i said a minor problem to older people but a nightmare for young mothers.
other than that fine.

We had a lovely week in the Calypso hotel,we found the receptionist very helpful indeed. the food in the hotel was excellent, varied menus everyday, with something for everyone, and with the rest of the hotel, it was spotlessly clean. Our room on the 7th floor was bright and airy, and with quite a large terrace, although it would have been nice to have been on the sunny side.
The Calypso is situated a position, that is handy for the beach, the clubs, and markets, we shall definately be going back next year.

this hotel is fine for a quick stay which i had, nice staff,ex cleaning of rooms hotel.food is ex i must have put on a stone, now you cannot smoke in the hotel.that did not put me off,you are aloud to smoke in your room, they do provide ashtrays,i never stopped in to see shows, but i have seen them before,ok for a quite night in,fine if your into old time music,i would say book this hotel direct.get a cheap flight and cheap transfers, like i did,can save you alot of cash, where the hotel is your right near all you need,ie pub.bars,shop.not far from everything really, they now show bbc 1 and itv so you can watch your favs .ie soaps.i have been in many hotels with the job i do and have to say this rates as one of my favs,

I have stayed at Hotel Calypso on a number of occasions. All the rooms, single and double are of a good standard. You are also able to watch your favourite Granada TV programmes in the comfort of your room. The staff are friendly and there is welcoming and safe environment.
