I am just back from 2 weeks at the Carolina apartments and absolutely loved them. We were on the 3rd floor and the views were great and I spent a lot of time sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. The balcony got the sun virtually all day. Ok they are not fancy apartments but loads of space and clean and the best position possible as quiet at night but lots of bars etc round about and just a step across to the beach. I noticed someone else had a comment about no safe but we had one which we hired for 20 Euros which was ideal. The beach outside the Carolina was much quieter and lot more space than the beach towards the old town which was very cramped looking. The kitchen had everything that you could want and there was an ironing board and iron if you felt the need! Didn't bother with the TV as you have to hire the remote control at Fincas offices and they told us it was only Spanish channels anyway. The pool at the back looked lovely although we never actually used it as I prefer the beach.

A decent nicely located apartment rather let down by the presentation.

An iron, but no ironing board, a washer, but no drying rack, a dead bulb in the bedside lamp, no batteries in the TV remote (Only English channel was CNN). No wine glasses (I thought they were obligatory in France and Spain LOL). The agency sorted the first two items with commendable speed (Well done, and thank you) and we sorted the rest ourselves.
I agree with a previous comment about the darkness of the decor in the kitchen and bathroom. The cleanliness of the bedroom was a bit iffy, and the windows on the balcony looked as though they had not been cleaned for months.
I must vote a big "Thank You" to the caretaker of the block, who extricated our car when the car park was flooded almost up the axle-height due to a failure of the pumping system.(One does not pack Wellington Boots for a holiday in Benidorn !).
Having said all that,we would certainly use the apartment again, because of its wonderful location on the front-line at Avenida Madrid.
