Great location, clean and tidy, very pleased overall

Having just returned from a weeks holiday,SEPT 2009, I would just like to say how really nice these apartments are.
We were met upon arrival and shown the apartment, we were given two sets of keys and had to pay 100euro breakage deposit.
It has a perfectly equipped kitchen,kettle toasters microwave etc, washing machine and outside laundry area, in the living room there was a tv and sofa bed, iron and ironing board, and two clean bedrooms, and a modern bathroom with plenty of hot water, clean towels and spare bed linen and hangers in the wardrobe (no safe in apartment though).
The only downsides to this property was the mattresses on the beds were very uncomfortable, if you think of a very thin mattress then that would describe it, the sofa bed was also very thin and worn. Outside on the street it is being pedestrianised with block paving, so is very uneven, but didn`t disturb us to much.
It is situated in the OLD TOWN so for us was a perfect location, and had some wonderful restaurants nearby.
Overall I would recommend both these apartments, and booking through benidorm spotlight, and would certainly return here in future (if they changed the mattresses!!).
Drink prices 2euros a beer, 4euros large spirit and mixer, 3 course meal 10-12 euros.

last sommer 2008 we staying also in golondro appartments. this year with us whole family. 2 appartments we had. there is not another appartments what so very good is as this appartment, and i have seen many appartments in benidorm. thanks again for the good service.
And hopely a next holliday we coming back.

Something important i wanted to add to my review just submitted.....is the parking issue. You cannot park outside the apartments, there is a car park 2 streets away but its 15E a night which can make cheap car hire very expensive all of a sudden. We didnt suffer too much as I had my EU disabled badge which meant i had nearby street parking available. Other regular spaces few and far between. Maybe consider a shuttle transfer from airport & use taxi's & public transport...depending on your circumstances. Theres so much to do in the immediate area, you may not need a car?

Stayed over new year and v pleased overall. Just a quick phone call and we were met at the apartment & showed in. All went v smooth, even gave us some complimentary tickets for Terra Mitca! Great location in old town, just 1 street from shops & bars & about 6 bars in same st (nearly all gay but made 2 straight cpls v welcome). Much nicer & more Spanishy (reminded me a bit of Madrid) than tacky Levante, although you need to go there for shows - 5 mins in a taxi. Spacious apartment, although 1 of the 2 bedrooms is a little small for a couple & the only reason i havn't given full marks is because beds were uncomfortable & linen/blankets basic to say the least. Think lumpy bolster & undersize linen on a 3/4 size bed, me n hubby fought over it most nights. Sayin that if you were 3 adults or a couple + 1 child (or 4 heavy sleepers!) you'd be fine. Heating worked well & fully equipped kitchen made for a good stay. Would def go again & just drink more to aid sleep! Firework display on NYE amazing, best Bar was Dominos but loads others to choose from.

excellent apartments, not so quiet since it was time for the moores and the christians to do battle wrong time of the year i guess.slap bang in the middle of old town 2 mins from the beach. great little bars all up and down the little street and we spent a lot of our time in a lttle bar directly in front of the apartments where everyone was real friendly. definately stay there again well worth every penny spent , immaculate and everything you could possibly need,, i recommend it a real home from home recommended 10/10 thanks for a great stay i will be back!

5 Swedish guys from Sweden had a fantastic stay in Benidorm, the Apartment was located in an excellent spot, nearby to more or less everything, best of all, the local bar 3 m cross the street :-)

the landlord very helpful and the apartment was very clean and sufficient for 5 people (optimun maybee 4 people but 5 is ok), we only missed a coffee brewer in the apartment otherwise extremely good value for money.

I really do not want to praise the golondro appts too much for fear of not being able to get booked in next time we take a trip to benidorm.I have given the service 10/10 for the lack of it which was great no intrusions,we were met by the owner nice chap and very helpful and prompt no fuss,there were 12 of us and we were all in our rooms within 15mins magic.The rooms were great except the second double bedroom was a bit on the small side for 2 adults having said we managed okk.the rest of theapptt was spacious.The cleanliness of the whole place was superb.The facilities good ,kettle was a bit dodgy.We would all definately come back and stop in theseapptss again the location is brill and contrary to other reviews on theseapptss we did not find the place too noisy not that we would have minded too much anyway after all we are on holiday (and we are in our 50s)yeehaa.One last thing if we were stopping for 2 weeks we would expect a change of bedding for the 2nd week ,maybe they do we were only there for 1 week my appologies if this is the case .goodbye now and thanks for the great accomadation jimbob

The Golondro Apartments are in a fantastic location in the heart of the old town on Calle de Palma, with plenty of restaurants on your door step, Paneils, Michaels & Two palms just to name few.
Th apartment it's self was spacious & very Clean. Galley Kitchen Fridge Freezer, Washing machine & Mirowave.
The bathroom was spacious with Power Shower & was fully marbled.
The only down side were the beds they made loads of noise when you turned over & if there wer two of you in the bed you would not get a wink of sleep. had to use the sofa bed aswell.
All in all not a bad apartment, but if sleep is what you need on your holiday i would look else where

Our Golondro apartment could not be faulted. It was spacious and clean and a 2 minute stroll into the heart of Benidorm's bustling old town. The absence of intrusive maid service enhanced our holiday but the provision of clean bedding half-way through would have been welcome. Traffic, particularly scooters, could be heard through the night but we found that we got used to it. Even the refuse collection lorry at 2 o'clock in the morning failed to bother us if we were in bed at that time. We would recommend the apartments and will stay there again when we revisit Benidorm.

great location , about 300 meters to the beach ,excellent kitchen with large fridgefreezer microwave and cooker , laundry room with washing machine , good size bedrooms with wardrobes and blackout shutters also aircon actually works in all rooms . some excellent bars and resturants on the same road as apartments but still quiet of a night so we had no trouble sleeping.big supermarket with quality wines, beers and seafood (used by the locals so was value for money)is about 200 meters away.we stayed here in august 2007 and august 2008 and will definately be staying again.

ecxellent apartments,very clean and tidy everything you need are in the apartments,extremely close to all shops,bars and amenities,also only 2 minutes walk to beach
if you are booking a 2 bed apmnt i recommend 1d this very large and spacious.

I would reccomend staying here if you are a family as it a lot cheaper than hotel prices.It is all air conditioned,everything is brand new and we enjoyed our stay there.

Good accommodation, very clean and air-conditioned. Near to the old town and beach. 100s of bars and restaurants within ten minutes walking distance, quite a few surprisingly good. Could have done with some extras like an iron and board. Some building noise during the day, but the area which was well established was undergoing some modernisation and what you would find in any other similar location. Well worth a stay.

Firstly the service from Benidorm Spotlight and the owner was excellent.
Booked these apartments due to their great location in the centre of the Old Town. You get the best of the Old Town plus you're not too far from the newer parts of town.
In the Old Town you are within walking distance are plenty of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops and a supermarket nearby. There are evene bars and restaurants in the same street as the apartments. Also only 5 minutes walk to the beach.
When I collected the keys the owner was plesant, friendly and welcoming and even gave extra set of keys because there were four adults on the booking.
The apartment was clean, large, spacious and had a fully equipped kitchen. One bedroom had two single beds and the other a double bed. The lounge area also had a double sofa bed.
As advised on the information page apartment is cleaned before you arive and clean towels provided. Having no maid service was no problem and as there was a washing machine you could wash the towels.
Overall, excellent service, nice clean apartment in a great location to enable you to enjoy all that Benidorm has to offer. I would definitely book again through Benidorm Spotlight and definitely stay at the Golondro Apartments again.

We choose the Golondra Apartments as our usual Avenida Apartments were fully booked. Location is very good in the old town, but I did miss not having a balcony to sit out on and people watch! We were with our friends this time, their first visit to Benidorm, and so we booked a two bedroomed apartment, which was OK, nice & clean with a seperate kitchen. The one problem we encountered was the second bedroom which was effectively a single room, although they managed to squeeze a double bed in, with single headboard!, the room was very small, just enough room at the side to get into bed, was was not great when you are staying for a week. Our other moan was no maid service for the entire week, I normally dont have a problem with this, but a change of towels mid week would have been appreciated.
Overall the Golandra is OK, not perfect. I would still always choose the Avenida Apartments anyday.

Excellant apartments, very central located, although there is building going on, so it can get quite noisey and difficult to sleep. Food was gorgeous in the restaurants alongside the apartments especially Gino's (directly across from the apartments)...

This is the second time that we have stayed in these apartments and we will definitely stay there again.Centrally located its ideally placed for the beach,shops and numerous bars and restaurants.As its situated in the old town you get a flavour of Spanish way of life that you don't get in other parts of Benidorm.Maybe not suitable for families as there is no swimming pool but we would definitely recommend to others.

Our stay at the Golondro Apartments was our first experience of apartment holidays, and we found this a very positive experience. The apartments are right in the middle of the Old Town with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach. The apartments were well furnished and very clean. The owners of the apartments were more than helpful, and very welcoming, which enhanced our stay a great deal. We did experience noise and disruption from the building across the street which was being demolished, but hopefully this will be completed in time for out next holiday - when we will have no hesitation in staying at the Golondro Apartments.

dont go here in the next 6 months major building work in property 12 feet across the street owner mislead us saying it started 2 days ago more like 2 months ago constant noise from drilling from 8 in morning till 6 at night could have been more honest and contacted us before we arrived appartments quite nice but not child friendly to much thin glass doors and furniture which is a hazard 5 minute walk from transfer drop in old town taxi rank before you book make sure the work is finished it will ruin your holiday as it did with us

We stayed at the Golondro in October 2007. The Apartments are ideally situated, literally a few yards from the Old Town, with shops, tapas bars restaurants. The beach is a 3-4 minute walk away. If you hire a car though, you will not be able to park near the apartments, unless you pay to park in the 24 hour car parks close by, which is quite expensive over the course of the holiday. We parked 800 metres away and strolled back - not a problem. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The only problem was the sleeping arrangements, where a double bed, single bed and sofa bed is the set up. The sofa bed was dreadfully uncomfortable, making for very poor sleep. I wouldn't visit these apartments again unless our group was for 3 or less people i.e. no-one would have to sleep on the sofa bed! Other than that though, the apartments were excellent. Highly recommended for groups of 3 people or under who prefer the Old Town to the nightclubs.
