We just wanted a break out trip and stayed for a week in Mar Blau. It is two minutes walk from the old town which has all kinds of nice boutiques, small outlets and the famous cheap 3 and 6 euro shops. We had a room with balcony and a great view on the harbor and the skyline from Poniente Beach, which was just 10 metres ahead of the the hotel. Price quality for rooms, food, staff and services is excellent. Missed an internet connection, but there are a lot of enough internet cafe's where you can surf for 1 euro an hour. For the next break-out we will for sure booh the Mar Blau.

a very pleasant small hotel in a good position. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean. However i was a little disappointed with the selection of food although there was never the need to go hungry or eat out. Then again the price reflected this I suppose, but if you are used to the large spread of choice found in 4 stars it may be difficult to adjust.
Overall a good well run 2 star hotel

Our first day and night did not work out so well because when we arrived we were told we would have to spend the night in a sister hotel as our room was not available because of a burst water pipe. After some inconvenience, moving to the temporary hotel and back again the following day we were given compensation with which we were satisfied. But all's well that ends well. We found the Mar Blau Hotel to be excellent in many respects ie; the staff were warm and very friendly and always helpful, the food and service in the restaurant 1st class, no problem with the lifts which were well maintained, the bar staff were friendly and pleasant. would come back again

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL IS EXCELENT WITH ACCESS TO THE BEACH CLOSE AT HAND . THE HOTEL ALTHOUGH STATED AS 2 STAR OFFERS MUCH MORE . WE HAD BOOKED A ROOM AT THE REAR OF THE HOTEL BUT IT IS WORTH PAYING THE EXTRA FOR A ROOM ON THE FRONT ( WE PAID EXTRA AND WAS UPGRADED WITH EXCEPTIONAL VEIWS ACROSS THE BAY )I FOUND THE LIFT A BIT QUIRKY AND TRECKING DOWN SEVEN FLOORS TO BREAKFAST WAS NO HARDSHIP AT ALL
WE STAYED IN THE HOTEL IN JANUARY AND MY PARTNER STILL FEELS THE COLD BUT IN THE ROOM WE HAD AIR CONDITIONING WHICH IN TURN SUPPLIED WARM AIR THAT SOON HAD THE ROOM COSY AND SNUG
BEING JANUARY THE HOTEL HAD PENSIONISTAS FROM CANARIA WHICH WE DIDNT MIND AS WE LIVE IN MALLORCA. WOULD WE RECOMMEND THE HOTEL YES !!!
WILL WE GO BACK AGAIN YES !!
SHOULD YOU VISIT THE HOTEL ? IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A QUIET HOTEL IN A QUIET ,PEACEFUL
LOCATION THEN IT IS A DEFINITE YES !!!
GOOD POINTS - THE BUS STOP IS 100 MTRS AWAY
THERE ARE GOOD BARS CLOSE BY, YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE OLD TOWN AND YET A 10 MINUTE WALK WILL TAKE YOU THE ENTERTAINENT CENTRE OF BENIDORM
BAD POINTS - LET ME SEE, NO CAN'T THINK OF ANY
ENJOY YOUR STAY IN MAR BLAU HOTEL PS I DID AND I'M 69 YEARS YOUNG THIS YEAR AND IF I CAN ANYONE CAN

This Hotel was lovely, situated right near the sea - in a quiet area of Benidorm. Staff friendly and helpful. The food was to suit all tastes - HP Sauce is available at breakfast!!
All in all, very pleasant and I hope to return one day soon.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Hotel in ideal position for shops and beach. Sky TV in rooms but only one English Channel - Sky News.
We had a lovely week in very pleasant surroundings. We will certainly go back.

Hotel is very well situated. A sea view room was nice but understand that not everyone can have one.Staff good and friendly. Hotel does not seem to be geared for winter letting. Bedrooms cold at times.food good. needs a larger toaster in breakfast room to eliminate queues. Not evryone likes garlic, living in Spain i always ask "sin ajo". Garlic and similar seasonings shouldbe available separately not in the food. many Brits remarked on this.

Fabulous hotel . We have been 3 or 4 times and the food, service and cleanliness is never less than 1st class. The views are superb and in the winter months the presence of the Spanish pensioners is a bonus. We have just come home and last weeks lot were the friendliest we have met.

Really good 2* hotel right on sea front of the Poniente Beach, a few minutes walk to the old town. Rooms clean, food good, staff friendly. Would recommend it to anyone and we would definitely go again. Only minus point was we were at the back of the hotel so had no view. Would pay the extra next time for seaview room.

we have stayed in hotels from one star to five star so when we booked in the Mar Blau we expected a typical two star type hotel....how wrong can one be this has to be the best two star hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere in europe.........the welcome was superb and the room with balcony was was better than many three star hotels....the dining room and food was fantastic......we are sure that we were the only british in the hotel but to us that was wonderful.....vino at 4euro90 for a bottle was great value.....the staff were very helpful. you cannot fault the hotel or staff in anyway whatsoever if we had not bought a place whilst over in spain this time we would be booking up time and time again

The Mar Blau hotel was excellent value for money. Very friendly staff with good level of English. It sits on the front line of the Poniente beach and its well worth the 6 extra euros for a room with a sea view. Food was fairly good, there was always something there to suit most people' taste. I would definitely book again.

Where am I?
